BETTY’S BUDGET OF SOCIAL DOINGS.
TWO members of the staff of Sunnyside Hospital who have joined the ranks of the ”newly engaged” this week are Misses Gertrude Crimmins and Jean Franks. Jean’s engagement to Mr William Gillam (ex-AIF), eldest son of Mrs M. J. Wheeler, of Cooper’s Plains, Brisbane, and: the late Mr W. E. Gillam. was announced early this week. Jean is the eldest daughter of Mr and. Mrs C. Franks, of Eviron. Gertrude’s fiance is Mr. Donald Mackay, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Mackay, of James Street, Murwillumbah, and Gertrude is the daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Crimmins of Cudgen. Both girls are wearing solitaire rings. They have no definite wedding plans as yet.
