A SERIOUS CHARGE.

Edwin E. Williams, 30, a farmer, appeared before Mr. A. Dean, P.M., in the City Police Court, on Friday, charged with a serious offence on a girl, under the age of 17 years. The offence was alleged to have been committed at Union Jack Estate, Morningside, on Monday last.

Detective. Senior-sergeant J. Donnelly prosecuted.

Detective Constable Mullally stated that he arrested defendant at Runcorn, near Sunnybank, yesterday. A remand was granted until next Thursday. Defendant was allowed ball, self in £40, and one surely in £40.
