LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS. YEERONGPILLY DIVISION.
The returning officer, Mr. A. Laver, attended on Tuesday afternoon at the offices of the Yeerongpilly Divisional Board, Rocklea, to receive nominations for the annual elections. The nominations received were :-No. 1 Subdivision, Mr. G. Boyland (retiring member), nominated by Messrs. J. Moffatt, E. Catchpole, P. Flaherty, W. B. Kinghorn, W. Sherry, and others. No. 2 Subdivision, Mr. R. Edwards (retiring member), nominated by W. Underwood, jun., W. Thomas, J. J. Lovekin, A. Williams, R. B. Howard, and others ; and Mr. John Whitfield, dairyman, Rocklea, nominated by L. S. Ormsby, H. Campbell, C. Mortimer, H. Wicks, J. Allen, and others. No. 3 Subdivision, Mr. W. Moody (retiring member), nominated by W. S. Holloway, Frank Holloway, J. Soden, G. Carter, jun., Eli Barnes, and others. Auditors, Messrs. A. C. Wylie and A. S. Lang. As only the requisite number of candidates have been nominated for No. 1 and No. 3 Subdivisions, Messrs. G. Boyland and W. Moody were declared duly elected yesterday, and also Messrs. Wylie and Lang, the auditors.
