TEMPERANCE.

Moorooka Congregational B.H. — The monthly meeting was hold on ‘Wednesday evening, the church being crowded. A long programme of recitations, dialogues, quartettes, solos, tea., was gone through. Mr. G. Rawson presided. Several friends from the city assisted with the programme, and to their efforts much of the success of the evening was due. At the conclusion of the programme Mr. Mullins (organist of the church), on behalf of the members of the congregation and children of the Sunday schooI, presented Mr. R. G. Gillies with a very handsome writing cabinet, in recognition of his services as superintendent of the Sunday school and to the church generally for the past three years. Mr. Gillies, who was quite taken by surprise, suitably responded.
