A meeting was held at Mr. P. McGoldrick’s, Logan Bridge, on the 21st February. About forty land-owners and occupiers of land were present. A. I. Henderson was voted to the chair, and read the circular from the Minister for Works, as well as the notice calling the meeting. It was proposed by Mr. W. T. Walker, and seconded by Mr. Slack,-” That the district be divided into two portions, called the Upper and Lower Trusts. The lower trust commencing from the junction of the Ipswich road and terminating at the Logan bridge. The upper trust commencing at the Logan bridge and terminating at Townsvale. It was proposed by Mr. Morrison and carried unanimously ” That the trustees appointed at this meeting and approved by the Government decide upon the best track from Cooper’s Plains to the Logan bridge.” The trustees appointed for the upper trust are :-Mr. D. Ferguson, Woodhill ; Mr. W. T. Walker, Glenvale; Mr. A. I. Henderson, Jimboomba ; Mr. D. Morrison, Viresdale; Mr. Everdale, Townsvale, For the lower trust: Mr. W. Slack, Greenbank; Mr. J. F. Mitchell, Old Logan road ; Mr. G. Stratton, Brown’s Plains, Mr. L. O’Neil, Teviotte; Mr. J. Scott, Upper Logan. The roads from this part to Cooper’s Plains are in a very bad state, and the movement of the Minister for Works for their improvement is highly appreciated. Mr. McGoldrick, with his usual liberality, provided a very substantial dinner for all who liked to partake of it.
