The Coorparoo & Districts Heritage Group Inc. formed in 1991. Its main strength is monthly talks by
local historians over a considerable time, and generally very well-attended. The lead history
management, Ron Baker, had documented the large collection of history talks. A noted historian
associated with the Group is Judy Gale Rechner, a specialist in local history, heritage and the built
environment, and a graduate of the former Centre of Applied Studies at the University of
Queensland.
